DTG Digital Will Launch The Q1•T Series DTF Transfer Printer At The FESPA Global Print Expo In May 2022

SYDNEY, Australia — March 1, 2022 — DTG Digital, subsidiary of Pigment.Inc, is launching its new flagship Direct-to-Film Transfer Printer, the Q1•T Series at the FESPA Trade Show which takes place May 31 to June 3, 2022, at the Messe Berlin in Germany. The event is Europe’s leading exhibition for screen, digital, wide format and textile printing technology. The Q1•T Series is a dedicated roll-to-roll DTF transfer printing system for indirect fabric decoration. After printing transfers onto transparent PET film, it passes through an in-line powder glue unit and curing unit. The in-line system prints and polymerizes the glue layer, and is ready for heat transfer application onto a variety of natural and synthetic fabrics including nylons, polyesters and blends.

The Q1•T Series Printer simplifies the transfer printing process while simultaneously boosting production capacity and application versatility. Users can achieve up to five times more volume than similar garment decoration methods thanks to dual print heads that allow for faster printing speeds and eight lines of ink dedicated to color inks. The color configuration is CYMK+White + Flush liquid, (A.I.R.ink replenish) with inks that can be used in user-replaceable 1.0L bags. The ink system is pressurized with re-circulation along with (WIMS) for white ink management which stops settlement of pigments in the ink — which in turn reduces print head maintenance. The A.I.R.-ink refresh feature controls ink line and capping station, damper, and print head maintenance. Push button control draws the flushing fluid around the system to reduce maintenance downtime and blockages.

PET film rolls are accepted by the system. They can be up to 460mm in width and 100 meters long. Kodak manufactures the adhesive glue powders and film for cold peel transfer. Translucent PET transfer film allows for easier positioning on the garment. The transfer sheet can be seen through to final positioning before heat pressing. The PET film’s thickness of about 0.75mm allows for better transfer characteristics including a short 10 second transfer time. The dimensions of the Q1-T Series measures 1330mm(W) x 1250mm(H) x 2100(L)mm – assembled and 770mm (W) x 1080mm (H) x 1610 (L)mm – unassembled and fits through a standard doorway.

Pigment.Inc CEO Steve Richardson said: “The DTG Digital Q1•T transfer printer is creating a new standard for professional garment decoration and we are excited to launch it at the upcoming FESPA event in Berlin. This system is perfect for anyone who wants to streamline and increase the efficiency of their transfer printing processes. One of the big advantages of the Q1•T Series is its ability to produce large volumes of transfers at speed and which are suitable for more than just garment decoration. The Q1•T Series prints indirect transfers suitable for decorating an endless array of both natural and synthetic fabrics including backpacks, umbrellas, hi-vis workwear, rainwear and caps. The DTF transfer system will make the ultimate addition to any garment decorator’s equipment line-up by expanding the range of products that can be decorated with indirect transfers and a standard heat-press for application.

The Q1•T Series will open up new revenue streams and complement existing technology whether it be screen, embroidery, DTG or other garment decoration processes. The shorter transfer heat press time and production capacity on the Q1•T Series is what makes this new technology so innovative. Full-color printing can be done on any fabric and in any position on any substrate.
